Fantasy Football Week 5: Is it Time to Start Respecting Ryan Tannehill?

Ryan Tannehill threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another last night. That’s his second four touchdown game of the year, his second with over 25 fantasy points and his third with over 20. Yet he’s still available to stream in close to 60% of leagues on ESPN. Why are we not giving Tannehill his credit? The man was a solid fantasy starter in nearly half of his seasons with the Dolphins, and he threw for 2,742 yards and 22 TDs in 10 starts last year. Something is clearly clicking in Tennessee, and he has real potential to help you win some fantasy games for the rest of this season.

In other and actually kind of related news, Dak Prescott suffered one of the most gruesome injuries I’ve ever seen on Sunday. I’m the kind of guy that almost faints when I cut my finger and there’s a bit of blood, so watching Prescott’s ankle do a pirouette nearly made me barf. I feel really bad for the guy (read more about my thoughts here), and I feel really bad for any fantasy manager who was lucky enough to have him this season. Dak was likely going to hit that 2,000 yard mark in his fifth game of the season, and I wouldn’t have been surprised to see him push for 6,000. It sucks man. Now the Cowboys and his fantasy owners are going to be stuck scrambling.

With the injury to Dak and some disappointing play around the league, this week, more than ever, is the week to stream a qb. I’ve got you covered with your best options below.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Ryan Tannehill (QB, TEN), Jared Goff (QB, LAR), Teddy Bridgewater (QB, CAR), Chase Edmonds (RB, ARI)
