Listen, it’s the start of the season for me too. I’m as unhappy about starting 1-2 as you all are, but we bounce back today.
Pick #1: Reds -1.5 (-105) vs. Tigers
I love the Reds this year, and a big reason for that is Trevor Bauer. Today is his first day to show why he’s one of the top pitchers in the National League. I don’t see the Reds losing two straight to the Tigers, and I don’t see the Tigers hitters figuring Bauer out. Reds have this one easy by 2+.
Pick #2: Blue Jays @ Rays OVER 8.0 runs (-125)
The Rays offense has been dying to break out over the first couple of days of the season. They’ve put up 4 runs each game against the Blue Jays, but today is the day for their bats to wake up. Blake Snell is pitching on the other side, and, let’s face it, he’s not the 7 innings, no runs Blake Snell we used to be accustomed too. The Blue Jays bats will do some damage against him, and the Rays bats will crush Thomas Hatch. This one is hitting the over easily.
Pick #3: Angels ML (-110) @ A’s
Shohei Ohtani is on the mound today, and that’s all I need to know to back the Angels. He’s been itching to make his way back to a start since his injuries in 2018 have kept him as a DH only. I think he comes out strong today and this Angels offense finishes off the series right. As a bonus prop prediction, see if you can get odds on Mike Trout hitting multiple home runs today.
