Well, I did it again. I picked another game yesterday that was actually happening tonight. That’s on me. At least the Mavericks/Rockets was the easiest over since I started gambling on basketball. It’s a new month, so that means a new and more focused Mr. Daily. Winners only this month, folks.
Pick #1: Utaz Jazz ML (+100) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
I think that the Jazz playing two nights ago is actually a huge advantage. They already got the weird part (their first game) out of the way which is probably going to be the toughest game for all of the teams during this restart. The Thunder were playing really well before the break, but I just have a feeling about the Conley, Mitchell, and Gobert trio that was able to pull off a big comeback win last night against the NBA’s anointed Pelicans.
Pick #2: New York Rangers ML (+115) vs. Carolina Hurricanes
The Rangers were the hottest team in hockey before the pause. They owned the Hurricanes in the regular season. I know that these are different times and this might as well be a new season, but I’m still riding with the Rangers superior goaltending in this one.
Pick #3: Winnipeg Jets vs. Calgary Flames OVER 5.5 goals (-133)
Yes, these two teams have great goaltending. But it’s also the first game back and these teams can score. I think like we’re seeing in the NBA, the defense is going to be what struggles early more than the offense.
