Today’s Picks:
Capitals @ Sabres over 6.5 goals
Nuggets (-5.5) vs. Bucks
Phillies (ML) vs. Yankees

I couldn’t have started the week off hotter going 3-0 on day 1 and making my way up to 5-1 after two days. I wrapped up the week 6-8-1 including my 0-3 performance yesterday. It was like a New York Mets season condensed into just one week. The Mets always come out of the gates hot. They’ll be in the lead for first in the division and have all of their fans thinking that this is the year, but then they collapse as the season goes on and injuries take place. My goal though is to do what the Mets never seem to be able to – bounce back.

The NHL pretty much sticks to a set over/under number of between 5.5 and 6.5 each night. This is going to have to change at some point for the Washington Capitals who have hit the over in six out of their last seven games. The team scores a lot, and they don’t have a good enough defense to keep their opponent off the board. They’re heading into Buffalo tonight with the over/under sitting at 6.5 goals, and I’m taking the over. I just don’t think that the number is high enough.

The Milwaukee Bucks are 53-11 this season, but they were 52-8 just four games ago. Since that time, they’ve lost at the Heat, Lakers, and Suns. In fact, of their 11 losses on the season, 8 of them have come on the road. They’re playing their third game in four days tonight, and did I mention they won’t have Giannis either? The Denver Nuggets, on the other hand, are a tough defensive team that is solid offensively. I think that this is going to be somewhat of a massacre tonight, so I’m loving the Nuggets -5.5 at home.

Betting Spring Training baseball is probably the most degenerate thing you can do as a gambler. It’s almost impossible, but I’m going to shoot my shot anyway. The Yankees played two split squad games yesterday and are entering today’s game with, at most, three players that will be in the opening day lineup. The Phillies are playing all of their starters and sending out their ace on the mound. If there was ever a time to bet a Spring Training game, it’s now. Give me the Phillies moneyline in this one.

Yesterday’s Record: 0-3

My 2020 Record: 11-9-1
