I told you yesterday that Harvard would beat Yale by double digits. It was the easiest pick on the board for me. Why? Because I’ve probably watched more Harvard/Yale basketball games than any other person on the planet. I’m obsessed with the rivalry, and it’s one that Harvard dominates. They follow the same pattern of games every single year, and this one was no different. Let’s hope they meet up again in the conference tournament finals.
Despite winning just three road games since January 19 (my birthday by the way), I picked the Heat on the road Friday against the Pelicans. Didn’t work out. I’m not making the same mistake twice as they head into Washington favorites tonight. Washington is a weird team where they can get hot at any point or play like the worst team in the league. But Miami is going in as 5.5 point favorites tonight when they’ve struggled on the road and the Wizards have played almost everybody close recently? I like Washington with the points here, so give me the Wizards +5.5.
Ohio State and Michigan State are both really good. They’re both getting hot at the right time, and they’re both coming off consecutive wins against ranked teams. So why is Michigan State 7 point favorites even at home? I don’t have an answer for you on that. Maybe because it’s Senior Day? I think this game will be a lot closer than the spread and will come down to a last minute possession to win it. I’m taking Ohio State +7 in this one.
I took a break from the NHL yesterday, but let’s get back to it today. I’m going to avoid the over/unders for at least one more night, but I love a particular moneyline. The Penguins are hosting the Hurricanes this afternoon, and they need a big time win. They’ve lost seven of their last nine games, but the majority of that has been on the road. Now, the Penguins get to come back home where they are 23-7-4 on the season. I think that this will be a game to settle the team down. I love the Penguins (slight favorites) moneyline in this one.
