Last Night’s Record: 2-0
Post COVID Record: 6-11
Even on a night where I did really well and got two of my picks corrected, I screwed up on the third pick because the Rockets/Mavs game is taking place tonight not last night. I just can’t do anything fully right any more. But, on the bright side, I did go 2-0, so let’s build on that.
Pick #1: Utaz Jazz ML (+100) vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
I think that the Jazz playing last night is actually a huge advantage. They already got the weird part (their first game) out of the way which is probably going to be the toughest game for all of the teams during this restart. The Thunder were playing really well before the break, but I just have a feeling about the Conley, Mitchell, and Gobert trio that was able to pull off a big comeback win last night against the NBA’s anointed Pelicans.
Pick #2: San Diego Padres @ Colorado Rockies UNDER 11.5 runs (-115)
Call me an idiot for dipping my toes back into the MLB pool of bets, but I like my chances in this one. The Padres and Rockies both have great offenses, and they’re playing in a hitter’s park, but 11.5 runs feels high with Jon Gray and Garrett Richards on the mound. I’m predicting a 5-4 game which puts me safely under.
Pick #3: Houston Rockets @ Dallas Mavericks OVER 227.5 points (-105)
I picked it last night, and I’m riding with it again tonight. I know that’s a high over, but both of these teams have high scoring offenses. A lot of people seem to think that the offense is going to be off at the restart, but if the exhibition games are any indication, it’s going to be the defense that struggles early as the players try to regain their condition. James Harden had 30 points in the first half the other night! I’m expecting a lot of scoring in this one.
A parlay on these three bets will net +614 odds.
