Did you miss me? Well after a long layoff, I’m back and better than ever…with the disclaimer that baseball is the hardest sport to predict on a nightly basis, so don’t judge me too harshly. But I’m feeling good about my picks today, as I do every day, and why wouldn’t I? I was well over .500 before COVID hit, and I’ve done nothing but watch movies and play video games since. If that isn’t the best lifestyle for a degenerate gambler, I have no idea what is. Anyway, here are my picks for tonight.
Pick #1: Braves at Mets UNDER 8.0 runs (-120)
Listen, any time deGrom takes the mound, you’d be a fool to not take the under. He’s won two straight Cy Young awards, and he’ll be gunning for his third this year. I think he’ll shut down this Braves lineup. On the other side, the Braves are sending out their young arm Mike Soroka. I think he’ll get hit hard, but not too hard. There might be 7 runs scored in this game, but over 8? Preposterous.
Pick #2: Rays -1.5 (+145) vs. Blue Jays
The Rays are going to win the World Series this year. There, I said it. The Blue Jays, on the other hand, don’t even know where they’re going to be playing their home games next week. This is the easiest pick on the board for Opening Day.
Pick #3: Orioles at Red Sox UNDER 10.0 runs (-115)
The pitching matchup of Eovaldi vs. Milone doesn’t inspire fear for the lineups in this game. But the fact that both lineups are well below average and this is their first game of the year does. This might be the only pitching duel that the Orioles end up in all season, but they’ll always have tonight to look back on fondly.
These are obviously all winners, so throw them in a parlay, and a $100 bet will pay out $739 on most sites.
