Tuesday Night Streaming Pick: Fruitvale Station (2013)

I’ve had a few movies queued up on my list for streaming picks that I knew I wanted to post but didn’t know when the right time would be. Well, now feels like the right time. With all of the racial injustice that happens every day in America and the protests taking place right now, movies like Fruitvale Station become that much more important. I asked one of my friends a couple of years ago to recommend a few movies that could help me, a white male, to understand what racism in America looks like. Fruitvale Station was his first recommendation. It tells the story of Oscar Grant III and the racial injustice that took place against him on New Year’s Eve in 2008. It’s a heart-wrenching story that will hopefully help you gain perspective like it helped me. Fruitvale Station has a runtime of 85 minutes and can be streamed on Tubi.
