Party Online Casino was launched in 2013 and ran for five years as Party Poker Casino. In 2018, the site rebranded to Party Casino and distinguished itself as its own site instead of just a placeholder for their online poker site. Party Casino is affiliated with the Borgata Casino brick-and-mortar in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is available to all New Jersey users over the age of 21 through their web browser version on Mac and PC and their mobile app on iOS. There is currently no Android version of the app.

Pros:
  • Great selection of video poker games
  • One of six online NJ casinos to offer craps
Cons:
  • Site is filled with bugs and tends to lag and freeze
  • Site is littered with misinformation
  • No Android app

FAQs

Are my winnings taxable?

All New Jersey online casino winnings must be reported to the IRS when you complete your annual federal tax return. This is done on Form 1044. You will tally up your total winnings and report them under the “other income” section. The winnings must also be added to your state tax return and are taxed according to your tax bracket.

Pros

One of the features that a lot of people seem to really enjoy about Party Casino is that they have unique gaming options including their network-exclusive progressive slots and Texas Holdem Bonus. They are also one of just six online casinos in New Jersey to offer craps. Party Casino has a great selection of video poker games with 20 currently on the website. This is a lot higher than a lot of the other sites in New Jersey. Party Casino also has a good selection of live dealer games with Holdem, baccarat, roulette, and two blackjack tables.

Cons

Unfortunately for Party Casino, the negatives far outweigh the positives at this time. While the site looks good visually, it is extremely buggy. There will be times playing a game that the site will just shut down or take the user back to the home screen. There are also times where it will freeze and take a long time to allow the user back to gameplay. Another frustrating part of the website is that it has misinformation all over it. The site seems to be outdated, telling users what it all used to look like and what games used to be on the market without updating for the current iteration. The mobile app is significantly worse than the website. For starters, there is no Android version of the app which is almost unheard of at this point with online casinos. Apple users aren’t much better off though as the iOS version of the app appears to have been thrown together quickly and put up just so Party Casino could say that they have one. The app has only a few slow options, blackjack, roulette, and video poker. This is disappointing, especially since the site has 20 different versions of video poker but just one on the app. Party Casino also does not accept PayPal. While this is not a dealbreaker, it is still a big flaw for the site when most other New Jersey online casinos have that as a deposit option.

Rewards

Party Casino has a pretty straightforward rewards program with players being rewarded the more they play. Prizes are given out in either cash or tournament tickets. Players are automatically enrolled into the rewards program and will advance through the tiers of bronze (starting level), silver (50 loyalty points monthly), gold (750 monthly points), and palladium (2,000 monthly points). Players will earn one point for every $25 wagered on slots, $125 on roulette/baccarat, or $250 wagered on blackjack. There are no cashback rates indicated for video poker.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, despite being one of the first online casinos to open in New Jersey, Party Casino is just not at the level of the top sites yet. While they do have a good selection of video poker games and offerings that are unique to their site, the overall product is too filled with bugs and outdated information. Not having an Android app is the nail in the coffin for this site.
