2020 NFL Draft Profile: Jeff Okudah

The 2019-2020 Ohio State defense was absurd. they had the best edge rusher (Chase Young) and the best cornerback (Jeff Okudah) in the country, and those two guys have a great chance of being taken with the second and third overall picks in this year’s draft. That’s just how good Trevor Lawrence and the Clemson Tigers are that they were able to beat this team in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl.

Okudah grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas, and is yet another 5-star Texas recruit that slipped away from the University of Texas. He plays football to honor his late mother, and he has to be making her proud with his play every single game. Okudah was a shutdown corner almost from day one at THE Ohio State University. He is the prototype build for what any team could ask for in a cornerback. His height, weight, length, and speed are all top of the line, and he has vertical ability to compete against taller receivers.

No one is going to outwork Okudah in the film room, and his natural instincts make him one of the best cornerback prospects of the past 15 years. He can play both zone and man and has such a natural feel for the game that he almost shuts down an entire side of the field in a lot of situations. Unless there is a run on quarterbacks in the first three picks, it would be insane to see Okudah slip past the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft. Quite frankly, it would be insane to see him slip past the third overall pick. This guy is can’t miss.
